The summer before your senior year – you are tanned, rested and can take advantage of killer summer deals. Once school starts the clock is ticking! Most yearbook senior ads deadlines are by December. You will want to enjoy, pass out and use your photos for the whole school year so the longer you wait the less time you have to enjoy them. Technically we can take your senior photos up to a few weeks before graduation but you will pay more and get less, so plan ahead!
For your yearbook photo, yes, most likely. As the creator of a yearbook I definitely agree that it’s important that formal yearbook photos be consistent in appearance. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that you HAVE to PURCHASE those boring photos! Really, do you want those to be your only senior photos forever? The images I create are for use in your yearbook ad, your graduation announcements, graduation party, artwork for your walls, and for other uses in making your friends jealous!
Life is too long to be bored so I only shoot until I “get the shot,” until we aren’t having fun anymore, or most commonly, we are so happily tired that we can’t move another inch. I don’t put any limits on the number of photos I take during a session. Some of that time is actually being used up by your clothing changes and walking to different spots at our location. I tend to shoot quickly and like lots of movement – no long posing sessions. Sometimes I give lots of direction and other times I’m quiet as can be - soaking in your personality and just letting you do your thing. You may not think you know how to pose, but you know how to be you and that’s all you need to do sometimes – just be.
Yes! Your best friend will definitely make you more relaxed and help bring out your personality. While I am not opposed to parents coming, often times seniors are not as relaxed when their parent is watching so most seniors bring their friend rather than a parent. Only one person other than the senior may be present at the session unless you have booked a Friends Session. And if they are a senior and ready to schedule their Senior Session, then you can both split one session fee!
I am constantly scoping out new and fresh locations for my seniors! During the consultation I will ask the senior about what they are looking for in their portraits. I like to get a feel for their style and personalities. They get first pick of their location but if they do not have a specific place in mind I have several I can recommend. Locations I typically use are downtown/historical areas of cities.
I’m someone who wishes there were other options from having such lame senior photos when I was in High school. I feel that teenagers DESERVE to have options – not just pictures but images that are personalized to them. I love what I do. I’m here to give you something really unique that will touch your heart and make you understand how special you are. I’m not a cattle call studio; I accept a limited amount of clients per year for a reason. After you leave the photo session I spend hour after hour editing and looking at your enlarged face on my huge computer screen, appreciating you for your unique qualities. If I didn’t have a special place in my heart for everyone I photograph I couldn’t do this.
Images are copyrighted which means that even though the pictures are of you, you do not own the copyright to them. If you opt-in, I will post the blog sneak peeks to my facebook page and tag you in them then email you low resolution, watermarked files of all poses that you purchase. You are then able to use them for your Facebook or MySpace but they are NOT to be cropped or altered in any way under any circumstances.
